Fagen Fighters WWII Museum opened its latest Holocaust exhibit last week with a large educational event. The exhibit features artwork by Holocaust Survivor Judy Baron of Golden Valley. She and members of her family attended the ceremony on Friday, May 4 as “honored guests.”
The exhibit displays watercolor paintings of Jewish children at the start of the Holocaust in addition to audio recordings featuring Judy Baron's personal story in her own words.
Mrs. Butterbrodt’s 10th grade history class from YME also attended the event. The students are roughly the same age that Judy Baron was when she and her family were sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp.
Steve Hunegs of the Jewish Community Relations Council also gave a speech during the opening ceremony speaking today.
