A car crash occurred on Wednesday, May 30 at the intersection of Highways 274 and 23. The incident occurred when a 2011 Chevy Impala driven Karen Derode Marron, 57, of Ghent, pulled out onto Highway 23, cutting off a 2017 Ford pickup truck.
The pickup was carrying two passengers, Scott Paul Christensen, 52, of Miltona, and Wesley Paul Schmidt, 49, of Long Prairie. Both were wearing seatbelts, and neither sustained injuries. Marron, who wasn’t wearing her seatbelt, sustained non-life threatening injuries. She received treatment at North Memorial.
Alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
The Granite Falls Police and departments, the Granite Falls EMS, the Yellow Medicine Sheriff’s Office, and the Upper Sioux PD responded to the crash.
