Happy Fall everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween. To say that October flew by is an understatement; I can’t believe we are now already into November! Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it.

Last week I attended the Granite Falls Design Summit that was held at The Rock and hosted by the Granite Falls Riverfront Revitalization. It was a great chance for area businesses to give an update as to what their role in our community is and update us on new happenings within their business. It was also an awesome opportunity to network with other business professionals over drinks and hors d’oeuvres and to listen to everyone speak. Thank you to everyone who helped in making that event a success!

I know that everyone is anxiously awaiting updates on our new building. We are still in construction mode and are waiting for new doors and flooring to be installed. Once all of that is complete, we can put the final touches into the space and finally move in! We are so excited and anxious for you to see the new home of your Chamber and thank you for your continued support and patience during this transition.

A few things to look forward to in our space include a Hydration Station that will allow bikers, runners, fishers, etc. to come in and fill up their water bottles! We will also have automated doors to allow the doors to be open during extended hours! This will be a great perk for tourists traveling through Granite Falls! We will also have a public restroom which is in high demand on Prentice Street.

Next week I will be in New Ulm over November 7th and 8th for a Southwest Minnesota Tourism Association meeting where I will continue to improve my knowledge of the Convention and Visitors Bureau side of my position and gain insight on how to promote Granite Falls during the tougher seasons; fall and winter! I am always excited to be in attendance at these meetings as I seem to learn more and more each time and can’t wait to implement some new ideas.

Again, thank you for your continued patience during this transition and I will update you with an open house date soon. Have a wonderful week!
