At a recent meeting of the 21st Century leadership, ECHO Charter was notified that it had the #2 After School Program in Cohorts 6 and 7, which are funded through 21st Century Program funds. This is a big deal and one of which we should be very proud! The ranking means that we have performed well in submitting reports, planning, and most of all, ensuring that the kids are having a great time learning and doing things that are not only fun, but that help them gain academic skills for school. The kids at ECHO have really come to rely on after school programming that offers deep learning and loads of fun. The kids have done a truly wide range of activities including dance, Legos, robotics, 3-D printing, archery (with the help of 4-H), elementary basketball, and don’t even get us started on the field trips! Kids have gone to Mall of America, Minnesota Science Museum, Twins games, canoeing, hiking, rock-climbing, picnic-ing…. What a program!
