Dozens upon dozens of donations have put the K.K. Berge building in a position to be saved, but there’s another way to bolster the effort to the tune of $25,000 that requires little more than a click of the mouse.
Granite Falls River Revitalization (GFRR) members are encouraging individuals to visit the National Trust for Historic Preservation website and give the K.K. Berge building their vote in the “This Place Matters Community Challenge.”
Those who wish to vote need to register at the website by supplying their name, email and zip code. It’s an easy process that with enough support will have a major payoff.
The contest is open to preservation efforts all over the country but the K.K. Berge Building is the only project listed in Minnesota. $25,000 would go a long way toward securing the building’s conservation and helping to maintain downtown’s vitality.
