Granite Falls attorneys Greg Holmstrom and Spencer Kvam and fellow District Eight judge, Paul Nelson have all worked  in front of, or alongside the Bruce Christopherson for at least 20 years, and in Nelson’s case as many as 35.  They are as familiar with the judge’s court demeanor as anybody. All three were effusive with praise when asked about Judge Christopherson, each putting into words their perceptions that indicate why the judge will be so greatly missed.

Holmstrom:
“He’s one of the best judges in the state that I have ever appeared in front of ... Its his intellect, how he treats and deals with people, his patience, his compassion, how he’s courteous and kind to people,”
“Through the last 20 plus years, our analysis of issue not always on same page but I’ve never felt cheated or abused or that my clients have been treated unfairly.”

Kvam:
I think he’s wonderful. I really do,” said Kvam without hesitation, when asked of his view.
“I, for one, will certainly miss being in court with Judge Christopherson. It was enjoyable to be in court with him. Lawyers, clients, he just treated them all with respect ... There’s no doubt that he’s the judge and its his courtroom but he treats everybody with respect.”

Nelson:
“He was one of the best attorneys I’ve ever dealt with and probably one of the best judges in the state of Minnesota -- unequivocally.”
“He is a very bright and intelligent person and he really cares about doing a good job for the people appearing before him. You put those two things together and you’ve got a really great judge.”
“He’s been a mentor, a guide and a very close friend. He will definitely be missed by anybody who has had any contact with him in the court system.”
