The 27th annual ECFE Early Childhood Fair for families with preschool children will be held Monday, September 13, 2010 at Bert Raney Elementary (BRE) in Granite Falls from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. There is no admission charge.
Storyteller Mike Mann as “Mike the Baker” will lead two 25-30 minute interactive programs for young children at 6:00 and 6:45 p.m. Mike uses bakery tools to tell stories and sing songs about his days as a baker. He brings a big rolling pin, a 4-foot whisk, a giant muffin pan and a huge mixing bowl, and invites children to join the Bakery Bowl Band. It is a fast-paced blending of learning, socialization and play. This is a return appearance for “Mike the Baker” who was previously featured at a BRE family literacy night in March 2010.
Area organizations and agencies that serve families with young children will have numerous displays and hands-on activities in the BRE gym. There will be lots of door prizes and families can register for ECFE fall classes.
