Cynthia "Granny" Siverhus, 89, of rural Maynard, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, February 28 at the Saron Lutheran Church in rural Montevideo with Pastor Lori Wold officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Cynthia Harriet (Lamp) Siverhus was born on February 8, 1921 near Sanborn, to Clarence and Elsie (Albertson) Lamp. She attended rural schools. As a young girl she moved with her family to Chippewa County. On June 20, 1940, she was united in marriage to Arnold Siverhus at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. They lived and farmed in Leenthrop Township. She was a long-time member of Saron Lutheran Church and was active in Ladies Aid, Birthday Club and had been a Sunday School teacher. She liked to sew, garden, bake, work, visit, liked flowers and loved visits from her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children: Ronald (Susan) Siverhus of Maynard, Karleen (Thomas) Williamson of Maynard and Donald (Carol) Siverhus of Montevideo; a son-in-law, Kenneth Peterson of Granite Falls; grandchildren: Barry (Jodi) Peterson, Jon (Leanne) Siverhus, Andy Siverhus, Terry (Ronita) Siverhus, Kevin (Angela) Siverhus, Pam (Greg) Wilkening, Tracy (Brad) Sherod, Tami (Dave) Halvorson, Kjersti (Kevin) Jaenisch, Tesa (Israel) Maus, Tracy (Jim) Keyes, Troy (Sarah) Dragt and Shalesha (Dusty) Sumner; great grandchildren: John Wilkening, Kristina (Jesse) Eisenbacher, Zachary (Ashley) Wilkening, Nicholas Peterson, Abigail Peterson, Dane (Holly) Sherod, Devon Siverhus, Weston Siverhus, Kelby Jaenisch, Kaisa Jaenisch, Keeley Jaenisch, Shayne Halvorson, Claire Siverhus, Samuel Siverhus, Norah Siverhus, Cody Sumner, Elsie Sumner, Aydon Maus, Kelly Siverhus, Kylie Siverhus, Ali Siverhus, Kyla Keyes and Jebben Keyes; great great grandchildren: Ayva Wilkening, Mason Sherod and Braden Eisenbacher; a sister, Evelyn "Pat" Johnson of Palmdale, California; sisters-in-law, Violet Lamp and Edith Lamp, both of Sylmar, California; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arnold in 1998; a daughter, Sonja Peterson; a great granddaughter, Roselynn Peterson; a sister, Florence "Pug" Boike; and two brothers, Robert and Ebert Lamp.
Anderson Funeral Hone of Montevideo was in charge of arrangements.
