Anna Kimpling 93, of Montevideo died at Luther Haven Nursing Home on Thursday, February 4, 2010.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.
Anna Josephine Specht Kimpling was born March 29, 1916 to George and Josephine (Uttermark) Specht in Crate Township, Chippewa County. She was baptized in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Clara City. She grew up and received her education in the Murdock area being confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Murdock.
In 1934, Anna was united in marriage to Merle Kimpling at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Clara City. They farmed in the Maynard area, moving to Clara City in 1962. In 1974, they moved to Montevideo and became members of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Throughout her life, family and friends were important to her, enjoying visits with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, along with many friends. She enjoyed a good game of cards, loved to bake, and enjoyed going out with family and friends.
She is survived by her three sons: Ronald (Linda) of Sacred Heart, Duaine (Kathie) of Granite Falls, and Merlen (Lee) of Clara City; her daughter Linda (Dalen) Grussing of Renville; and her daughter-in-law Janice Kimpling of Montevideo. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Merle in 1984, two sons: Leslie and Gerald; grandchildren: Kim Amborn and Keith Amborn, one great grandchild, Sam Fitzgerald; three brothers: Herman Specht, Henry Specht, and Marvin Specht; and three sisters: Dorothy Specht, Bernice Specht, and Margaret Euken.
Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Montevideo was in charge of arrangements.
