Obituary: Orin Sander

   Orin Sander, 91 of Belview, died Monday, March 1, 2010 in the Granite Falls Hospital.             Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4, in Grace Lutheran Church in Belview.             Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, in Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and continue one hour prior to services in the church in Belview.
    Orin Grant Sander was born March 17, 1918 on the family farm in Swedes Forest Township, Redwood County, to Oscar E. and Gertie (Anderson) Sander. He was baptized in Rock Dell Lutheran Church  and confirmed in Grace Lutheran Church. Orin grew up on the family farm in Swedes Forest Township and attended District 5 Country School. He lived and farmed his entire life near Belview. Orin was an excellent blacksmith and welder and loved to repair things in his shop. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and he had a life long love of the outdoors. Farming was his life and he was known as a very hard worker. The last few years of his life Orin enjoyed “patrolling the halls” of Parkview Home.
    He is survived by his special friend Mabel Holt; three nieces: Edith Huseby, Geraldine Preuss  (Marvin)  of Belview and Shirley Christensen of Delano.  Also surviving are his six grand nieces and nephews, twelve great grand nieces and nephews and six great great grand nieces and nephews.
