Pearl Anderson, 90, of Belview, formerly of Granite Falls, died Monday, February 8, 2010, at the Redwood Area Hospital. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 13 at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church, with burial at Hazel Run Lutheran Cemetery.
Pearl Bernice Anderson was born October 27, 1919, the daughter of Halvor and Selina (Anthony) Wilson, in Hazel Run. She was baptized and confirmed at Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Pearl graduated from the Clarkfield High School in 1939.
Pearl was united in marriage to Walton Anderson on May 18, 1940, at Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Together they farmed in the Hazel Run area. She was an active member of Hazel Run Lutheran and also worked as a nurse at the Granite Falls Hospital for 18 years. Following the death of Walton in 1965, the family moved to Granite Falls.
Pearl is survived by her children: Roger (Zayna) Anderson of Belview; Wayne (Debbie) Anderson of Chaska; Richard (Debbie) Anderson of Belview and Cindy (Jeff) Serbus of Jacksonville, North Carolina; grandchildren: Terry (Kristine) Anderson; Todd (Marcy) Anderson; Tim Anderson; Emily Anderson; Missy (Jason) Dittbenner; Andrew Anderson; Alex Anderson; Christina Serbus; Michelle Serbus and Brandon Serbus; great grandchildren: Rachael, Taylor, Cecily, Brennan, Nicole, Peyton, Jariel and Owen; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walton in 1965; son Mark in 1969; daughter Susan in 1952; brothers: Orly, Waldo and Haskel; and sisters: Nora and Arda.
Funeral arrangements were with the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls.
