Lucille Hermanson, 88, died on Friday, January 8, 2010 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, with Pastor Martha Hanson officiating, and burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Lucille Florence (Anderson) Hermanson was born October 17, 1921 in Providence Township of Lac qui Parle County to parents Victor and Phoebe Anderson. She was baptized at Providence Valley Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran. She later attended Clarkfield High School.
Lucille was married to Arthur N. Hermanson, of Boyd, on April 8, 1943 in Montevideo. Their marriage was blessed with two children, DeWayne and Barbara.
Lucille devoted her life to her husband Art and their family. They farmed near Boyd until retirement but continued to live on their farm their entire married life of 66 years. She much enjoyed the outdoor areas of their farm, especially flowers and gardening and the green crops growing. She also relished traveling with Art to many areas of our country, and especially collecting picture albums of all the relatives and friends they visited.
Lucille was very involved in their community and church activities. She was a member of Trinity Ladies’ organizations, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of other church committees. Her greatest social pleasure though was simply being with and visiting many friends, relatives and acquaintances. Her warm smile and gentle demeanor were enjoyed by many. Later years found Lucille and Art in many card games, camping, fishing, bowling, needlework and just being with family. She particularly enjoyed her granddaughters and great grandson.
Our wife, mother, grandma and great grandma was preceded in death by her “mom and dad,” Victor and Phoebe, whom we know were the source of Lucille’s loving ways. Also preceding her were sisters: Iarud Ludvigson, Irene Forlund, Avenell Saue, Ione Falk and brothers: Arnold, Monrud and Roger Anderson.
She is survived by her lifelong partner and love, Art, and her children: DeWayne (Karen) of Boyd, and Barbara (Norm) Hendrickson of Hopkins; granddaughters: Celyne Hermanson, Dawn Hermanson, Andrea (Nic) Schmidt, Renae Hermanson, Erin Hendrickson and Bethany (Kevin) O’Connell; great grandson Chase Lee; sister Vivian Anderson; brother Gerald Anderson and sisters-in-law Katherine Anderson and Phyllis Anderson.
Arrangements were with Lynner Funeral Home of Clarkfield.
