Carol Tollefson, 69, of Granite Falls died Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Granite Falls Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 10, at Hawk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Sacred Heart, with the Rev. Dan Bowman officiating, followed by burial in the church cemetery.
Carol Tollefson was born December 20, 1940 on the family farm near Wood Lake, to Herbert and Millie (Baker) Peterman. She graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1959 and then lived in California for a few years where she worked as a bookkeeper.
Carol was united in marriage to Ardell Tollefson on December 15, 1962 and they were blessed with two daughters. They resided on their farm at rural Sacred Heart and Carol was a homemaker and a dedicated mother. She was faithful member of Hawk Creek Lutheran Church. Ardell died in 1996 and in 2002 Carol moved to Granite Falls. Carol had enjoyed collecting angels, reading, flower gardening, and loved to follow the Minnesota Twins baseball team. Carol was diagnosed just six weeks ago with cancer and died Friday evening, March 5, 2010 at the Granite Falls Hospital.
Carol is survived by her two daughters and their husbands: Melanie (Randy) Mauris of Rochester and Jill (Cory) Stock of Sacred Heart; her four grandchildren: Lindsey, Lucas, Justin and Jasmine; her brothers: Glen Peterman, Herbert (Rosie) Peterman and Donald (Lucille) Peterman, all of Conrad, Montana; and her special friend Owen Larson of Sacred Heart.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ardell; her brothers: Floyd, Virgil, Harlan, Harold, Orville; and her sisters Lucille, Delaine, Dorothy and Gladys.
