Marcela “Sally” Bauman, 97, of Clara City, died Friday, December 18, 2009, at the Clara City Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Sunday, December 20, at the St. Clara Catholic Church, with burial at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Marcela “Sally” Elsie Bauman was born on February 4, 1912, the daughter of Ebert and Mollie Albertson, in Sanborn. Sally was baptized in Sanborn and confirmed in the Catholic faith on July 12, 1936, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lamberton. She was united in marriage to Tony Bauman on September 23, 1930, in Lamberton. In 1937 they moved to Maynard where she was active with the Helping Hand Club, Mission Sewing, bridge club, Happy Hour Homemakers, birthday club, 500 club and later volunteered at the nursing home and the Senior Citizens. She loved making mittens and quilts along with homemade greeting cards.
She is survived by four daughters: June Jacobs of Madelia; Carol (Erwin) Hinderks Winter of Montevideo; Patricia Teberg of Erhard; and Diane (Roger) Citrowske of Canby; 21 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1981, three sons-in-law: Perry Jacobs, Don Hinderks and Lou Teberg; three grandchildren: Jack Teberg, Dean Citrowske and Vickie Teberg Rethwich; four sisters and four brothers.
Arrangements were with the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Clara City for Sally Bauman.
