Hope Jorgenson Swanson Carey, 56, died Monday August 9, 2010 at the Richmond Hills Assisted Living in Phoenix, Arizona, after losing her battle with lung cancer.
Hope spent her childhood on a farm in Clarkfield and that warm, caring farm girl, with smiling eyes became a caring, giving friend to all who knew her.
Hope’s faithful cheery notes and cards, home baked treats, and helping hands will be cherished memories to the many who received them. Hope loved her home in Prescott, Arizona. She spent many hours walking her dogs in the woods behind her home. She loved animals and, of course, horses. She had a collection of horses that she loved and received many as gifts, which she treasured.
Hope is survived by two sisters: Heather Jorgenson of Phoenix, Arizona, and Holly Young of Wadena; Sister-in-law Lois Boerboom; nephew Devin Boerboom of Walnut Grove; stepdaughter, Shannon Dodd, her husband, Michael and two granddaughters of Phoenix, Arizona; and a sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Mike Ventimiglia of Jupiter, Florida.
Hope is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Edith Jorgenson; Brother, Charles Jorgenson; and many other relatives.
Private services remembering Hope took place near her Prescott home.  Cards may be sent to Heather Jorgenson 2120 East Bluefield, Phoenix, Arizona 85022; Holly Young 720 2nd St. NW, Wadena, MN; memorials in Hope’s honor may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona.
