The first set started off as a back and forth, but a few mis-hits gave KMS a small lead 8-12. Meeghen Dahlager managed to tie the game with a pair of awesome kills. 18-18. The Sting struggled with getting serves in. KMS won the final point with an impossible serve that barely crawled over the net 22-25.

In the second set, Anayansi Flores had a great spike to tie the game 7-7. YME was again struggling with serves and frustration was visibly building. Dahlager had a nice tipping spike to tie it again 14-14. KMS had several good blocks in a row to pull ahead 15-18. Flores had several spikes to get the lead back 21-19. Jadyn Sakry had the set winning spike 25-19 In the third set, YME got a huge early lead with solid play 12-3. After that run, the Sting made errors but still held the lead 18-12. KMS did manage to catch up and tie the game at 19-19, then both teams went point for point until it was tied 23-23. The Sting got their 24th point, then Sakry served into the net. Mackenzie Dyrdahl spiked at the end of a long rally, and during the next play KMS hit the ball out, giving YME the set 26-24.

In the fourth set, neither team could get a serve in 6-6. They eventually got the distance calibrated, but the game was a very close battle still 11-11. Dahlager and Sakry had good kills. Drydahl's serving got the Sting on a roll. KMS called timeouts at 16-11, and 19-15. A few calls went against YME, and a few bad hits tied the game at 21-21. Dahlager had a block 23-21. Sakry served an ace, and Dyrdahl's block won the match 25-21.

Coach Fadness reported, "It was exciting for us to realize that we can battle when we need to, but it was also a check for us that we can't wait so long to start competing. It's good for us to see that we need to continue to work hard in practice. We didn't play as well as we could, we had 56 errors between serving and hitting. We've got to get back to holding ourselves accountable and working hard every day."
