Located mid-way between Green Bay and Milwaukee, in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, Road America is a 640 acre, world class motor sports facility featuring a 4.048 mile road course, a one-mile supermoto/karting track, the Road America Motorcycle School and Adventure Programs for groups of all sizes.

Since its first official race in September of 1955, it has been a favorite circuit of racers worldwide who relish the challenges of the undulating landscape and the high speed turns and curves. Fans return year after year to enjoy the park-like atmosphere, fantastic food and wheel-to-wheel competition by the world’s fastest riders and drivers.

On June 17 Road America hosted the NASCAR Nationwide Series and for four days competitors and fans witnesed some fantastic racing. It was the inaugural race sponsored by Bucyrus International (the world leader in design and manfacture of high productivity mining equipment) and also presented by Menards, both Wisconsin companies.

Included in the race weekend were the SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am series, Playboy Mazda MX-5 cup and the Mid-America stock cars.

Carl Edwards started from the pole position in the 200-mile event which featured other NASCAR sprint cup regulars Brad Keselowski, Wisconsin native Paul Menard and Formula One World Champion Jacques Villeneuve.

Drivers reached speeds of 180 miles per hour on the straight- aways of the 14-turn road course and elevation changes of more than 100 feet.

Carl Edwards drove his fastenal sponsored Ford Fusion to victory collecting a $52,000 paycheck and custom made 50 pound marble trophy presented to him by Harley-Davidson president Willlis G. Davidson. Finishing second was Ron Fellows and third place finisher was Brendon Gaughan.

Road America has on-site camping, hot showers, great food, free parking and grandstand seating. Check out Road America.com - they have five more events this year.
