Robert Abel, 84, of Granite Falls passed away Monday, November 1 at the Avera Granite Falls Care Center. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home Chapel in Granite Falls.

Roger Schwerin

The funeral service for Roger Schwerin, 64, of Maple Grove, took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation was Tuesday from 3 - 7 p.m. with sharing of memories at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the remembrance center. Interment took place at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Posen Township, rural Wood Lake. A livestream and recording of the service will be available at www. horvathfuneralservice.com. Our beloved dad, papa, brother, and friend Roger left us for the golden gates of Heaven while surrounded by his family and friends at Methodist Hospital on April 29.

Ariel Christine Malone

Ariel Christine Sakry was born on February 10, 1997, in Alexandria and brought much joy to her parents, Nichole (Toft) and Josh Sakry. She was baptized at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Ariel graduated from Yellow Medicine East High School in Granite Falls in 2015 before attending Fergus Falls Community College for her generals. She had just recently been accepted to SMSU in Marshall to start her journey towards becoming a teacher. Not one to shy away from hard work, Ariel lived out her “what can I do to help you?” motto by serving others in a nursing capacity at the Clarkfield Care Center, as a lifeguard at the Clarkfield pool, and helping customers at J & S. She has worked since she was 15 years old after obtaining her CNA license.
