Saturday, August 13th: 5th Annual Ride 2 Remember. The event begins in the morning with registration at the American Legion at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. opening ceremonies, and 11 a.m. takeoff. Dinner is served at the Legion followed by a concert.

New Artist in Residence announced

The Granite Area Arts Council announced this week their selection for the newest Artist in Residence through the CAIR program. The newly chosen Artist in Residence, chosen by the Granite Area Arts Council advisory board, is Leah Cook, of Maine. Cook arrives this week in Granite Falls to begin her residency and has written this week’s “News from the Granite Area Arts Council” column in the newspaper, providing more of a background on her career and interests. An opening reception for the year’s CAIR program will be held in the shelter at Memorial Park with a meet-and-greet opportunity to meet Cook on August 25th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
