CHURCH SCHEDULES
Belview GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH Sundays: 9 a.m. Holy Communion, 10:15 a.m.

“You will do well to be attentive […], until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” (2 Peter 1:19)
When I was a kid, my mom had this cube made of different sized pieces of hard green plastic. Each piece was unique; some had right angles, some had a right and a left turn in them, maybe one was straight. But when they were all put together correctly, they formed this cube that fit snuggly into its plastic case. I worked and worked on this puzzle. It seemed I didn’t have enough fingers to hold the pieces in place to try to fit a new piece in. At first, I would get two pieces that seemed to fit the right way, then I’d add another and drop it, then I’d start all over again with those same first two pieces, slowly putting together the puzzle once piece at a time. I made it; the pieces were transformed into a cube! Soon, I could put it together in record time.

Some warm up by the weekend
We have seen some fog recently once again across Minnesota with the melting of the snow and fairly light winds. This has made for some travel difficulties at times, particularily late at night and early in the morning.

GUESS WHO?

Joint reception held for local artists
Photographer Corina Lee Kells and artist Krystl Louwagie hosted a joint artists’ reception at the gallery in the K.K. Berge building on Thursday, February 9th. Both artists spoke extensively about their works and what they mean to them as well as what they hope people take away from their exhibits. Kells’s exhibit is in the Emerging Artist’s gallery in the K.K. Berge building when you first walk in. On display are several photographs Kells took, mostly using herself as the model, expressing different parts and stages of both mental health struggles and addiction. Louwagie spoke about the layering techniques she used for each portrait she had up on display. She worked on multi-mixed media portraits of people in their face masks during the pandemic. Both artists say they hope their work inspires curiosity and helps them ask questions they may be hesitant to ask, especially about mental health. Both artists’ work will be on display through the end of February.
