SBA deadline is May 9 for non-profit organizations to apply for Disaster Loans

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding private nonprofit organizations (PNPs) that May 9 is the filing deadline for federal economic injury disaster loans for losses due to the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred May 29-30, 2022. PNPs located in the Minnesota counties of Aitkin, Big Stone, Cass, Chippewa, Crow Wing, Douglas, Grant, Itasca, Kanabec, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Lyon, Nobles, Pine, Pope, Renville, Rock, Stevens, Swift, Todd, Traverse, Wadena and Yellow Medicine are eligible to apply. Examples of eligible non-critical PNP organizations include, but are not limited to, food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers, schools and colleges.

Department of Public Transformation announces 2023 cohort of the Ignite Rural artist residency

The Department of Public Transformation (DoPT) is pleased to announce the 2023 Cohort of the Ignite Rural Artist Residency. Ignite Rural uplifts rural arts and cultural workers as invaluable contributors to increasing community connection. 8 artists were selected for the 2023 Cohort, which is in its second year of operation, led by the Ignite Rural Program Director Holly Doll, Anpao Win (First Light Woman). Ignite Rural artists will receive a $4,000 creative fund, an additional $6,000 living stipend, and access to an $800 artistic development/ wellness fund, along with six months of cohort model professional and artistic development support through workshops, in-person gatherings, and digital learning exchanges. This project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
