The Blue Tin Gallery in Bluenose Gopher Public House is currently exhibiting the paintings of local artist Heath Armstrong. Armstrong was born in Montevideo, but moved to Kauai in 1999.

YME Trap Team sports highlights
YME Trap Coach Sandra Berthelsen says that Sunday, May 7th, the fourth week of Conference Competition rounds was an exciting day. “Not only did we get to show off our sponsored businesses banner,” she says. Logan Hoff shoot a perfect score 25/25. This is Logan’s third “25” patch since he started trap shooting. With the next squad, Garrett Cob shot his lettering score of 20/25 for this season. “We could not be shooting on a High School Trap Team if it wasn’t for the MN Heartland Preserve. They put forth the efforts with East Medicine Pheasants Forever, Chippewa County Pheasants Forever, Southwestern Prairie Sportsmans Club, Granite Falls Redi-Mix and Troy’s Electric to build the ranges we shoot on,” Berthelsen says. As the weather finally gives us a break, it seems everyone is playing catch-up. Many events are now taking place, many evenings are spent out covering sports events for the schools. It would seem I spend more time in my car than my house.
Mental Health well-being event scheduled for May 20th
On May 20th, the 8th annual Community Mental Health Walk will be held at Woodland Centers in Montevideo from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
YME softball team defeats Ortonville
Last week, the Yellow Medicine East girls varsity Softball team took on both MACCRAY and Ortonville, taking a 12-8 victory over Ortonville. In that game, leaders included Atrinity Tipton who was 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run, while Bayli Sneller scored two hits, two RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases.

Striding into the future . . .
In the coming weeks, high school seniors across the country will don caps and gowns and proudly walk across a stage to receive a diploma in the culmination of a 13-year goal that has taken the support of many people along the way in order to achieve it. Seniors, your family, in particular, has been with you every step of the way and I hope you thank them.
