2023 small game survey results available from Minnesota DNR
The number of small game hunters in Minnesota in 2023 increased slightly from 2022 and was 5% below the 10-year average.
Statewide pheasant numbers similar to 2023
Pheasant numbers in the 2024 Minnesota August Roadside Survey were similar to 2023 and 19% above the 10-year average, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.“The stability in pheasant numbers across the state and most regions is welcome news after the wet spring and summer we had,” said Steven Woodley, DNR senior wildlife research biologist.
