“Do not cast me off…” Psalm 27:9c

I was reading the psalm for this next Sunday (the 2nd Sunday in Lent) and the plea to God, “Do not cast me off” is what caught my attention. I checked dictionary.com for the definition of “cast” and I found this: verb -1. cause (light or shadow) to appear on a surface. 2. register (a vote). noun - 1. an object made by shaping molten metal or similar material in a mold. 2. an act of throwing something forcefully.

Notes from the Granite Area Arts Council: Tell Me Your (Ghost + Other) Stories…

I am a glutton for punishment, so I’ll be spending this week’s spring break working. However, rather than scheduling visiting writers’ events, grading papers, and giving students begrudging extensions, I will be crafting my own fiction … as a mini-resident-artist at the YES! House Tuesday through Sunday. Hooray!

Warmer weather prompts seasonal road, trail closures

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has begun temporarily closing some DNR-managed roads and motorized trails as seasonal melting makes them too soft to support vehicle traffic without causing damage. The duration of the temporary closures in state forests, state parks, recreation areas, and wildlife management areas depends on local weather and surface conditions, which are difficult to predict.

YME hosts Career Fair

Last week, despite the snowy weather, local employers came out to the Yellow Medicine East High School to support students at YME’s first Career Fair. The event provided an opportunity for students to discover career paths, connect with professionals, talk to colleges, and gain valuable insights into various industries.
