The annual Wood Lake Community Club’s Wood Lake Fair returns beginning Monday, August 22nd. Events begin at 4 p.m. with the start of the Scavenger Hunt. Those wishing to participate can pick up bags and the rules at the Hamburger Stand downtown, and have until noon on Wednesday to find the hidden items. Bags should be turned in at the Hamburger Stand at that time. Monday is also entry day for the Exhibit Hall at the Community Center, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Those times are also open for those participating in the ColoringContest to drop off their completed work at the Community Center. Coloring pages can be picked up at the Wood Lake City Office during regular business hours inadvance of the fair.The Little Scrappers Children’s Tractor Pedal Pull begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening, sponsored by the Lakeview Booster Club and Wood Lake Community Club. The annual Wood Lake Firemen’s Water Fights and Raffle Drawings will also be held Mondaynight at 6 p.m.On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Exhibit Hall is open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Community Center for guests to check out all of the creations on display. A Pieand Ice Cream Social will take place hosted by the Methodist Church and St. Luke’s Church from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday as well. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, visitors to the Fair can take the opportunity to dunk their favorite Wood Lake Firefighter at the dunk tank. Livin’ Rich Entertainment is hosting a Karaoke event in the Beer Garden Area from 6:30 to 10:30 Tuesday, and those seeking additional entertainment can visit the Americana – Days Gone By variety show outside of the Methodist Church at 7 p.m.
Wednesday evening, the Kiddie Parade will be held with line-up behindSt. John’s Church beginning at 6 p.m. The Grand Parade begins at 6:30 p.m. with lineup north of the Railroad Tracks by the elevator. Alter Ego Entertainment is DJ’ing in the Beer Garden Area from 7:30 to 10:30 Wednesday evening. At 8 p.m., children present could be lucky winners at the Children’s Grand Prize Drawing.
Each night of the three-day event, the Midwest Rides Carnival will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with bracelet night on all three nights. The popular Lakeview Booster Club’s Bingo Stand will be open all three nights from 6:30 to10:30.
