Photo-Caption:David Haroldson, of Asbury Produce, is one of the organizers of the Farmers Market at Sorlien Park, and brings a variety of produce each week. Last week, Haroldson featured kohlrabi, cabbage, zucchini, kale, onions and more. What he most enjoys about farmers market is growing the vegetables. “I used to grow things but I didn’t have enough time to do it, so when I retired I started doing this,” he says. The garden is a little over an acre, and keeps Haroldson busy, alongside organizing the market. The Farmers Market also utilizes the Tokens for Tomatoes Program through Countryside Public Health as well as a program through Living at Home Block Nurse Program that also allows for tokens for seniors to shop at the Farmers Market.
