Albert Levern Swenson

 Albert Levern Swenson passed Friday, August 12, 2022, at Banner Baywood Hospital, Mesa, Ariz. at the age of 94.
 Levern was born in Sturgis, S.D., the son of Albert and Victoria Swenson. He grew up on a cattle ranch near Vale, S.D. After completing his schooling, he enlisted into the Air Force. He specialized as a radio mechanic, served with the 514th Reconnaissance Squadron in Guam. He served from 1946 to 1949. He married Carol Miller in 1949 and would have enjoyed 73 years of marriage in December. Levern started KingAire Industries which manufactured and serviced grain/rice dryers. His business gave him the opportunity to travel the United States, South America and other countries. He wintered in Arizona. In 1987 he made Arizona his permanent home. He enjoyed bow hunting for javelina. With retirement he did downhill skiing, played golf, gardening, bingo and other hunting trips. Levern was a Granite Falls resident from 1965 to 1987. He was a member of the American Legions, VFW and Knights of Columbus.
 He is survived by his wife Carol. Four children: Lana (Jeff) Bergeland, Alexandria; Loren (Deb) Swenson, Granite Falls; Lynette (Dan) Jones, Port Charlotte, Fla.; and Lola Nelsen, Brooklyn Center. Three sisters: Viola, Darleene and Dorothy. Two brothers: Roger and John; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
 He was preceded in death by one brother and his parents.
 Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mesa. Burial will be summer 2023 at National Military Cemetery, Little Falls.
