Every year, Yellow Medicine East has one or more transfer students from various places in the world. This year YME welcomes Jenny Lo.

Lo is a senior this year and is from Taipei, Taiwan. She is staying with Miranda and Isaac Evenson. Jenny is involved in band, tennis, basketball and says she will be trying golf in the spring.

Lo wants to go to college to become a scientist to study either biology or physics. Her favorite subject is science and her least favorite is history.
When Lo first came here she was very surprised by the food. She was also surprised on how relaxed school is in Minnesota and is also excited for snow days.

“I like everything about Minnesota, I’m really looking forward to seeing snow,” she said.

In Taiwan Lo would go to school at 7:30 a.m. and go home at 5:00 p.m. Some students, including Lo, would have more classes after school that would go to 10:00 p.m.

Lo has a younger brother in Taiwan who is 14 years old, her father is a self-employed businessman and travels a lot. Her mother is an accountant. In her free time back home she was in band at her school and played the saxophone, she also went shopping and to movies with her friends.
