YME girls take losses last week

Last Tuesday, the Yellow Medicine East Girls Varsity Basketball team took a loss to Minneota with a final score of 56-82. On Thursday, the team took to the courts again, taking on Russell- Tyler-Ruthton for a 53-72 defeat. Leaders in that game included Hannah Stark who scored 17 points, eight rebounds. Lavin launches new interior design focused E-Magazine

Betsy Lavin, of Wood Lake, opened her interior design business in her chiropractic building in Granite Falls in 2018. In doing work in life purpose coaching, one of the questions Lavin asked clients most is what would make them jump out of bed every day. She realized, that for her, interior design work was the answer.

Wilson joins ECS Board in time for audit report

Jayden Wilson, a 2021 graduate of ECHO Charter School, read and signed his oath of office to become the youngest member of the ECS Board Thursday night during the Board’s December 9 meeting. Wilson, 20, from Granite Falls, said it was a weird feeling not having been out of school long and already holding a position that usually fell to older people.

Echo Lions hold Santa Day event

Community members gathered last Saturday for Santa Day in Echo. The event included Free BINGO for turkeys, hams, and meal sides thanks to local businesses donating/ sponsoring the BINGO items. These businesses included Farmers Coop Oil of Echo, Dan Larsen Tax Preparation, Granite Works, Echo Fire Department, Sharon’s Headquarters, Gjerset Trucking, Sunset Funeral Home, Kotek Trucking, Farmers Union Insurance of Montevideo, Kvistad Farm, Bendix Plumbing and Heating, Daryl Kuehn Heating and AC, and Pederson Farm Partnership. Hickory Lane Farm of Echo donated the potatoes for the BINGO meal side bags.
