Bare Bones Night. In the back alley of a community theater, Rob waits patiently until finally, from within, a skeleton, SCOTT, emerges.

Letters to the Editor

• All letters from candidates, letters endorsing a candidate or opposing a candidate, letters about candidates, and letters that urge people to vote for a particular candidate or a certain way on a ballot question, will be published as a Paid Election Letter. A charge of $30 will be required for all Paid Election Letters. Charging for Paid Election Letters provides accountability for candidates and campaigns and limits campaigns from taking advantage of “free” advertising space on the Opinion Page. The fee must be paid prior to publication of the paid election letter.

From the Editor’s Desk

This time of year can always feel a little more challenging for me than other times of the year. From the last week of September through Christmas Day, I work a schedule that burns the candle at both ends between photography, the newspapers, and the boutique, and thus many of my relatives and friends have come to the realization that they’re just simply not going to hear from me much until the next year.

KK Berge building arts gallery under renovation

The KK Berge building in downtown Granite Falls is getting a touch of a makeover. Tamara Isfeld, on the board of Granite Area Arts Council, said that “We just updated the gift shop and now we are redoing flooring and putting in some gallery walls to display art. One wall will be on moveable to adjust for classes, and different types of exhibits. We are fortunate enough to have our industrial tech high school students helping with this project.” Granite Area Arts Council is able to do the renovations, which started October 4th, thanks to receiving a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council. The gallery will remain closed until renovations have been completed.
