The annual Pezihutazizi Oyate Traditional Wacipi was held August 5th through 7th at the Upper Sioux community. The event began on Friday, with registration opening at 2 p.m. The Grand Entry was held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m., and additionally Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. Special events this year include the Men’s Traditional Special honoring Tim Blue on Friday, sponsored by Joe and Kate Bendickson, and on Saturday, the Women’s Traditional Special in remembrance of Rhonda Hoeper, sponsored by Timothy Wells, Jr.
