Falls SPaw to open on Prentice Street in August
A new business is opening soon in Granite Falls at 826 Prentice Street. The former salon is currently in the process of being transformed to be Falls Spaw, a dog spa and eventually pet boutique.

Jason Best led the entire Pure Stock feature for his first win at Fiesta City Speedway. Sixteen WISSOTA Super Stocks came to Fiesta City Speedway the 20 lap, $1000 to win special.

South Dakota musician makes stop in Granite Falls on Minnesota tour
Brady Wrede made a stop at Bluenose Gopher Public House in Granite Falls on his current Wander North Summer Tour last Thursday. Wrede, who got his start in music playing at a small church in Dell Rapids, South Dakota at 14 years old, says he never really imagined that music would be his career.

It always strikes me as odd how you can raise three children in one house and end up with such entirely different personalities. My oldest is a “look before you leap” kind of guy, and while he has a lot of goals, they usually start out with a decision to do something, followed immediately by doing everything he can to just get it done, and get it done quickly. He’s always plowing headlong into the next thing and the next, and I always wonder at how he seems to never take the time to appreciate where he’s at along the way.

Coleen Alness, 65, of Clarkfield died peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her home. Memorial Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall. Following a reception, interment was in the Spring Creek Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery, south of Clarkfield. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service, from 10 - 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 9, at the church.

Joseph Quigley “Joe”, 61, of Granite Falls passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield with his daughter by his side. A celebration of life is being planned.

Marilyn Jean (Day) Cusick passed away November 23, 2021, at Aspen Winds in Cheyenne, Wyo. She was 91 years young. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 15, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Granite Falls Lutheran Church with a luncheon to follow. A private interment will be held at the Granite Falls City Cemetery.
