Michael Steven Sather was born February 27, 1955, in Montevideo, the son of Harry and Viola (Swenson) Sather. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He attended school in Montevideo graduating with the class of 1973.
Bonita “Bonnie” Cordes, 75, of Pipestone died on Thursday, May 12, 2022, under hospice care at The Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 5 - 8 p.m. at 710 SE 4th St., Pipestone. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Interment followed.

Sharla Bengtson, of Wood Lake, recently entered one of her photographs into a contest for Friends of Minnesota Barns. The photograph was chosen to be featured in the Barn Calendar for 2023 in the month of November. The photograph Bengtson submitted was taken in Pine County, Minnesota. Ridgewater Community & Technical College Practicing estheticians and recent Estheology graduates who meet eligibility requirements will now be able to take their skills to the next level for their skincare clients, thanks to an Estheology program expansion at Ridgewater College, Willmar campus. Launching this summer, a 20-credit Advanced Esthetics certificate will be available to licensed estheticians and cosmetologists who wish to expand their expertise to such skin treatments as light therapy, dermaplaning, and other advanced skin treatment protocols.
On Saturday, May 21st, Woodland Centers is hosting their annual Suicide Prevention Awareness walk at Smith Park in Montevideo. The event has been held since 2015, with the exception of one year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
