DAVID HAGEN

David Hagen,73, of Greensboro, Ga., formerly of Granite Falls, passed away on Saturday May 6, 2023, at his residence. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 26 at 2 p.m.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:10)

Vicar of Healing Waters Lutheran Parish, Lutheran Seminary Student George Müller was born in Germany in 1805 (and died in 1898), he was a little troubled in his youth. He got into the bad habits of lying, stealing, and drinking. He stole government funds from his father and the story is that he was out partying with his friends when his mom was dying. He didn’t really care about anything. He ended up arrested and locked up with thieves like himself. Still, he didn’t change. But later, his father—wanting to help him change—sent him to seminary to become a clergyman where he was introduced to the Bible and found a loving God. He was best known for his work with orphans. He not only found ways to provide housing, but also had people show up to educate and train the children for a trade.

Ask a Trooper

Question: Now that spring if finally here I am seeing a lot of tractors, sprayers and other large equipment on the highways. A number of them didn’t appear to be using their flashing lights, slow moving signs and escort when required.

Live Well, Age Wisely

I loved the Choose Your Own Adventure books when I was growing up. You would read part of a chapter and then you’d have to make a decision, each of which would send you to a different page in the book.
