To the editor: The “Upper Sioux State Park”, is enjoyed by many Granite Falls area residents and considered sacred by the Lakota People, as a site of prayer, ceremony, and the massacre of their ancestors.

Last week’s edition of the Advocate Tribune had a big error, that led to many a message left. Somehow all five of us that look over the pages before printing somehow missed that a story from Page one was missing the jump on the inside pages. I can’t explain how all of us missed that, but we did. Human error happens. Our deepest apologies for that.

OF THE WEEK Vegetable Cheese Casserole 4 cups cooked asparagus 2 cups cooked ham 1 and 1/2 cups milk 2 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoons flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup grated cheese Buttered bread crumbs Place asparagus and ham into a buttered dish. Cover with a white sauce made of the milk, butter and flour and salt.

Beanbag tournament scheduled in honor of former Clarkfield resident

com The family of Ariel Sakry is planning a memorial beanbag tournament not only to remember and honor Ariel, but to help raise awareness about domestic violence. Ariel, who grew up in Clarkfield, and attended Yellow Medicine East High School, was just 25 years old when she was shot and killed by her husband Isaac Malone in April, 2022.
