Communities were highly engaged in the process, with efforts ranging from testifying at the Legislature and donating land for the building to raising additional funds in support of special amenities. Public groundbreaking programs were hosted in summer 2021. Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor, In reference to the snow storm 2/21-2/23/23, I want to take the opportunity to recognize the staff of Avera Granite Falls Care Center who hunkered down in the building or stayed in town versus going to their homes out of town to ensure that our resident’s needs were met. This includes housekeeping, dietary, nursing assistants, and the nursing staff. Thank you to Linda Roschild, Natalie McPhail, Crystal Schjenken, Lee Timm, Ada Thomas, Laura Beyer, Alex Peterson, Amy and Kelsey Rhode, Isaac and Ruby Esparza, and Lorie Tjaden. We made it through the COVID outbreak and the snowmaggedon TOGETHER! Thank you, Justin and Amanda Aurelius, for picking up odd hours and working together to help us fill the open shifts.
