Barbara Ann Breuer was born on February 17, 1938 to Duane and Elsie (Quirk) Burch in Pipestone. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church and attended school in Pipestone. On August 27, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Breuer.
They lived in Tracy for a short time before moving back to Pipestone. Barb enjoyed crafting of all sorts and hosted many Christmas Tea parties. They spent summers camping at Lake Shetek. After buying a home on Lake Shetek, Barb enjoyed fishing and was known as the “Crappie Queen of Lake Shetek”. She hosted many fish frys for family and friends. During this time she worked as a bailiff for both Pipestone and Murray Counties. They then purchased a home in Granite Falls to be close to their daughters. After a few years they moved to Slayton where Barb enjoyed spending time with friends.
Barb is survived by her husband Gilbert Breuer and three children; Bryan Breuer and fiancee’ Cat Cross of Paynesville, Jackie Breuer of Granite Falls and Megan DeJager of Granite Falls; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother Randy (Kathy) Burch of Remer and a sister-in-law Karen Burch of Slayton. Barb passed away peacefully on April 9, 2022 surrounded by her family. Service will be at a later date.
