Despite flooding, outstanding outdoor recreation opportunities will abound in Minnesota 4th of July holiday weekend

The Independence Day holiday weekend is just around the corner, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has tips and important information for visitors to make sure everyone can enjoy the best outdoor recreation opportunities our public lands and waters have to offer, while also staying safe and avoiding areas damaged by current flooding.“Even with the recent flooding around the state, there are a lot of great opportunities to enjoy the outdoors this 4th of July,” DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen said.

Zach Johnson wins first feature at Fiesta City Speedway since 2017

A field of 88 cars were at Fiesta City Speedway on Friday night for Meet the Drivers night.Brady Hagen led every lap of the Pure Stock feature except the final lap, when Coltyn Schuler made the pass for the lead on the last lap to win his seven straight feature.Shane DeJong led the entire WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature for his first win of the season.Cody Hatch took the lead to start the WISSOTA Street Stock feature.
