Jessica: Since CherryRoad took over we’ve been working on a bunch of things – big and small – to bring our content even more local, to improve the look of the paper overall, and to come up with innovative ways to bring the news to people in more ways than ever before. I loved the Choose Your Own Adventure books when I was growing up. You would read part of a chapter and then you’d have to make a decision, each of which would send you to a different page in the book.

Commissioners continue to look into bank property for new Human Services location

At Tuesday morning’s meeting of the Chippewa County Commissioners, a representative from Klein McCarthy Architects was on hand to give a presentation on the Family Services Facility Plan. The County Commissioners have been investigating the idea of purchasing the former Minnwest Bank building downtown to house Family Services, and potentially Prairie Five due to the state of the current location, and the cost of maintaining that location.

Pleasant weather for the weekend

Last Thursday was the anniversary of the tornado outbreak that hit parts of west central and central Minnesota. One area that was hit hard back on May 12, 2022 was the City of Alexandria.

OF THE WEEK Submitted by Myrna Stölen Bar-B-Que Beef Liver 2 slices bacon 1 lb liver 1 tablespoon sugar 1/8 tsp chili powder 1 cup sliced onion 1 tablespoon vinegar 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon mustard 1/4 cup ketchup 2 tablespoons water Fry bacon and remove from pan. Roll liver in salt, pepper and flour.

Question: Now that spring if finally here I am seeing a lot of tractors, sprayers and other large equipment on the highways. A number of them didn’t appear to be using their flashing lights, slow moving signs and escort when required.
