The newest exhibit open in the Granite Area Arts Council gallery is called “Chiaroscuro”, pronounced “kee·aa•ruh·skyur·ow” - an Italian artistic term to describe the arrangement of light and dark, darkness and light together. The exhibit is entirely photographs of local community members in designed sets and costumes.

Last summer, South Dakota musician Brady Wrede made a stop in Granite Falls on his Wander North Summer Tour. The tour was his first ever. This week, he plans to return to Granite Falls to host a show at Bluenose Gopher Public House on May 5th.

Sixteen years worth of effort to have a Veteran’s Home built in Montevideo has culminated in the completion of the project late this summer. On Tuesday morning, National American Legion Auxiliary President Vickie Koutz, of Indiana, traveled to Montevideo to meet with State personnel, as well as local community members involved with the project to tour progress on the construction of the facility.
