Crosswalks get a refresh

Volunteers recently gathered including Jesse Bautista and Tamara Isfeld, to re-paint the crosswalks in downtown Granite Falls. Due to last winter’s mild weather, the previous designs held up enough that the decision was made to touch those designs up rather than to paint new ones.

First Makers Market of the season draws largest crowd yet

Last Thursday, 46 vendors set up stands along the entirety of the Riverwalk for the first Granite Area Arts Council Makers Market of the season. Wares ranged from handmade hot sauce, all variety of baked goods, and farm fresh meats to handcrafted lamps and informational booths for area organizations such as the YME Vote Yes committee. The next Makers Market happens Thursday, July 3rd.

Emerson Olson named to STC President’s List

Emerson Olson of Clarkfield was named to the Southeast Technical College President’s List for the spring 2025 semester. To be named to the President’s List, students must be seeking a degree and have a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Last week, the first edition under the new format arrived on news stands and in mailboxes. As we work through the process of learning the new ropes, there are still a few things that we’re figuring out. So it may be that for one week, something that regularly is a part of our weekly newspaper won’t necessarily be included, as we become more accustomed to the placement and workings of the new design.
