Notes from the Granite Area Arts Council Upcoming Happenings
Yesterday, I spent so long building a snow fort that my forearm muscles ache as I type this. I have no regrets – after a lot of awkward shoveling, our five-year-old visiting friend was delighted when two burrows connected to make a tunnel, daylight breaking through the hole in the middle. Hope you too have been able to sculpt something out of snow this winter – there’s sure enough of it around.

Scott Berger, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Alexandria Technical & Community College, recognizes individual students for academic excellence. The following students were named to the Dean’s Local students on the list for achieving a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credits Fall Semester 2022: Granite Falls: Brooke Meyer, Alexis Smith.
Local students named to MSU Moorhead Dean’s list
The following students have been named to the Minnesota State University Moorhead dean’s list in recognition of academic achievement fall semester 2022. Students must maintain a 3.25 or higher gradepoint average and carry 12 graded credits to qualify for the honor.
Chance of snow in the forecast
I hope everyone enjoyed the mild temperatures over the weekend. We had plenty of low to mid 30s across much of the state, while southern Minnesota saw some upper 30s and lower 40s! These temperatures were 15 to 20 degrees warmer than average for this time of the year.

Addicted Boudoir, LLC opens in Granite Falls
Addicted Boudoir, LLC has opened it’s doors in Granite Falls. Reba Hundt is the owner and sole photographer in her studio that specializes in boudoir photography. What is boudoir? By definition, boudoir means “a women’s bedroom; a women’s private room”. Boudoir is a style of photography meant to empower the women that do it. It gives them an intimate setting to embrace who they are and what makes them beautiful.
