YME Graduation 2025

On Friday evening, May 30th, the annual Graduation Commencement Ceremony was held at Yellow Medicine East Schools for the 2024-25 graduating class.

YME senior headed to State Track meet

Klaira Shackelford is going to State Track and Field Tournament in the Pole Vault competition. Shackleford placed 2nd at the Section 3A Track Meet last week with a vault of 9’ 5” and will be competing on June 11th at 3:30 PM at St. Michael Albertville in the State Track Meet.

My position at Prairie Five is funded in part by a grant from the Southwest Initiative Foundation. Without this wonderful organization investing in our rural areas, we would not have robust aging services programming at our agency. Currently, my position is also funded in part by federal Title III dollars which were awarded by the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging (MNRAAA.) YME softball finishes season

Last week, the Yellow Medicine East Varsity Softball team took on Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian School for a 1-4 loss, finishing the season with a 14-8 record. Leaders in the game included Ella Cherveny who was 1-for-2 with two walks. Complete scoring follows:

Rain chance for the weekend

Despite the dry conditions, sunshine, and pleasant temperatures over the weekend, we dealt with smoke from Canadian wildfires once again. We had an Air Quality Alert in effect over the weekend through Monday evening for most of the state.
