Besides having owned the Stölen Foods grocery store in Hanley Falls for a number of years with my grandma, he was also a gun dealer, did chainsaw sharpening and repair, had a construction business, an antique store, and drove for Medi-Van.

To most Americans, human rights feel like a basic necessity in their lives. Privilege is often the most common reason many people feel that basic human rights are essentially in place for all people. Universal Human Rights month is to raise awareness about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This declaration was established in 1948, adopted by the United Nations, and is the most translated document in the world. The Universal Declaration promises to all the economic, social, political, cultural and civic rights that underpin a life free from want and fear. This was created to protect the rights of people world-wide. There are 30 rights that the declaration states are for all people regardless of any discriminating factors.

Memory Care Corner:

“Whose Line Is It Anyway?” was a comedy television show that was hosted by Drew Carey from 1998 – 2007. The show consisted of a group of four people acting out comedy sketches on-the-spot with suggestions and ideas from the live audience.

Damen Tesch to perform first solo show at Bluenose December 10th

Damen Tesch, originally from Marshall, has returned to the local area after being away for 25 years and will be playing his first solo show at Bluenose Gopher Public House on Saturday, December 10th at 7 pm. Tesch has been playing live music since he was in high school, but didn’t seriously take up the guitar until he was in his 30s. Tesch has been a professional tattoo artist since 1996 and has traveled and worked in places like Miami, San Diego, Lake Tahoe. Most recently, he lived in Humboldt County, California.

Wintry mix possible late Friday into Saturday

All-in-all our weekend weather was not too bad for all the things that are going on this time of the year. Whether it was taking in a Christmas/ Holiday concert or play, doing some shopping, or just going for a walk, it was a decent weekend.
