“Angst” documentary aired locally in effort to raise awareness around anxiety

On Wednesday, November 9th, the Montevideo Millenium Theater aired a screening of the independent documentary “Angst”. The event was hosted by teh Upper Minnesota River Valley Suicide Prevention Coalition, sponsored by Crow Wing Energized, BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota, Arlene Selander Coaching and Consulting, the US Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Jackson Roder Foundation.

In the third grade, our class started a school newspaper. At the time, I was a student in Redwood Falls Elementary School, but I distinctly remember the first article I wrote, titled “Tom Terry and his one man band”. The story was about a man who played five separate instruments who put on a concert at our school.

Artist in Residence time in community extended

Leah Cook, Granite Falls’ current artist in residence, has been in town for a few months now and it’s just been announced that her residency is being extended by two weeks. The Granite Falls Area Arts Council had the following to say, “The program was able to secure enough community support – and huge public enthusiasm – to extend the program for two additional weeks.” Cook has been busy nonstop since she started her residency this past August and her current projects are anything but small.
