Approximately 300 children visited the annual Granite Falls Chamber Trunk-N-Treat event held on 8th Avenue off Prentice Street downtown Saturday afternoon. Businesses and organizations decorated their vehicles and handed out candy, also participating in a contest for best costume/display. The contest was won by Down on the Korner for their “IT” themed display and costumes.
The Yellow Medicine East Varsity Football team traveled to Minneota for the Section 5A quarterfinals last Tuesday evening. The team took a 14-56 loss. Leaders in the game included Cody Dahlager who rushed for 58 yards, scoring one touchdown on 12 carries. Complete scoring from that game follows:
Brandon Earl Hall, 40, formerly of Granite Falls passed away on October 11, 2022, in Hennepin County. A private family service was held. Brandon was born at the Beltrami County Hospital in Bemidji on April 14, 1982, to Jon and Constance (Connie) Hall. He was water baptized in Redwood Falls at the age of six after asking Jesus into his heart. Brandon graduated in 2000 with high honors from Yellow Medicine East Schools in Granite Falls. He was active in tennis, football, and choir. He loved travel, adventures, cultures, nature: gardening, herbs, flowers, etc.... He enjoyed sharing the knowledge of a variety of plants to balance the human body. He was such a people person and loved to talk and show how much he cared. Brandon is survived by his mother Connie. His brothers: Mike Freedom, Clifford Hall and Derek Hall. His sister Vanessa (Chad) Torke. His nieces: Chloe and Faith Torke, and Sophia Hall. His nephews: Ryder Torke, Caden Hall, and Viktor Hall. He was preceded in death by his father Jon and grandparents.
Memorial service was on Wednesday, November 2, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Albany.
