A weekend of celebration of Mother’s Day often includes a celebration of my birthday that sometimes happens to fall on Mother’s Day itself. That means my lucky kids get out of having to be very kind to their mother on two separate days sometimes. Because this years birthday fell on the day after Mother’s Day, my son celebrated both in one, showing up at my house to tell me I needed to go outside and see what my gift was because it was in the trunk of his car.

YME track competes in invitational

Last week, the Yellow Medicine East Varsity Track and Field teams traveled to Benson for an invitational. The girls took the 10th place spot with a score of 24. Top three scorers follows:

YME golf competes in Tracy

Last week, the Yellow Medicine East Varsity golf teams traveled to the Camden Conference South Division meet in Tracy. The boys team took the fourth place spot with a score of 184. Top five scorers follows:

YME baseball defeats MACCRAY

YME students honored at annual banquet

Last week, the Granite Falls and Clarkfield Lions Club hosted their annual Honors Banquet for twenty-one Yellow Medicine East YME seniors who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Much needed rain on the way

It was a Mother’s Day for the record books on Sunday. We experienced record high temperatures that had been in the record books for 125 years that were shattered! Lots of low to mid 90s were found around the region.
