“Rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
In Protestant churches that follow the liturgical year, we have just entered the “Season after Pentecost.” During this season our altar paraments are green which for us in the Northern Hemisphere coincides well with our growing season. It’s easy for us to feel that this is the church season where we take time to study Jesus’ ministry and grow in our faith. This season lasts for 24 weeks, from June 9 through November 23, 2022. Our gospel lessons during this time are from the Gospel of Luke, which tells us that we are in Year C. Year A concentrates on the Gospel of Matthew, Year B on Mark, and Year C on Luke.
