Last week I attended our Parkinson’s Support group meeting and we had a speaker give a presentation on scams and fraud. Even though I have never been a victim of a scam (at least to my knowledge!), it was great information and very eye-opening.

After several meetings, months of financial planning, extensive design work, public hearings, and the formal bidding process, the city council rejected all three bids on a street and utility rebuild project.

YME Honors Banquet held last week

Last Wednesday, the Clarkfield and Granite Falls Lions Club held an Honors Banquet for Yellow Medicine East Seniors who achieved a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher. Ridgewater to offer Advanced Esthetics certificate

Ridgewater Community & Technical College Practicing estheticians and recent Estheology graduates who meet eligibility requirements will now be able to take their skills to the next level for their skincare clients, thanks to an Estheology program expansion at Ridgewater College, Willmar campus. Launching this summer, a 20-credit Advanced Esthetics certificate will be available to licensed estheticians and cosmetologists who wish to expand their expertise to such skin treatments as light therapy, dermaplaning, and other advanced skin treatment protocols.

TZD Seminar notes rise in traffic crash fatalities in Minnesota

Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths (TZD), an organization that was designed to study the causes of traffic fatalities and serious injuries, and work to pursue public support of traffic safety as a priority, hosted a seminar at Prairie’s Edge Casino and Resort in Granite Falls last week.
