Montevideo author to lead Cozy Mystery writing workshop

M E Fuller Montevideo author and writing coach will lead a writing workshop for all skill levels at the SW MN Arts Council annual artist retreat at the Danebod Folk School in Tyler. The description for the workshop reads, “Open the door to your imagination as we expose hidden secrets of murder, mystery, mayhem, and all manner of suspense in the workshop, How to Write a Cozy Mystery (and anything else)”.

Kiwanis Popcorn Stand opens early for the season

The iconic Granite Falls Kiwanis Popcorn Stand opened a couple of days earlier than expected, opening Friday, April 29th. The popcorn stand, located along the Minnesota River in downtown Granite Falls was originally scheduled to open on May 1st but advertised an early open on social media for followers of the tradition eager for their first taste of the season. City council hears report on 2022 Street project bids

At the regular monthly meeting of the Granite Falls City Council, the 2022 Street and Utility Improvements project was discussed, with bids being reviewed. City Engineer Mike Amborn was at the meeting to present the council with information about the bids received. The project for 2022 includes complete street reconstruction, sanitary sewer replacement, water main replacement, storm sewer replacement, and other associated items that would need to be replaced or repaired alongside the work for multiple streets in town.
